אתמול התקיימה הוועידה השנתית למשפט, אקלים וסביבה. הוועידה מתקיימת זו השנה החמישית, בשיתוף פעולה של משרדנו, ובהובלתה של עו"ד Idit Reiter, ראש מחלקת דיני סביבה וקיימות (משותפת), עם המשרד להגנת הסביבה בהובלתה של היועצת המשפטית דלית דרור, ארגון אדם טבע ודין בהובלתם של עו"ד עמית ברכה מנכ"ל הארגון ועוה"ד תמי גנות, סמנכ"לית בארגון ואוניברסיטת בר אילן בהובלתו של פרופ' אורן פרז, ראש בית הספר הרב תחומי לקיימות וסביבה. בין דוברי הוועידה היו מבקר המדינה, מר מתניהו אנגלמן, אשר הציג את ממצאי הביקורת האחרונה שנערכה על ידי משרדו בנושא הערכות מדינת ישראל לשינוי אקלים, כבוד שופט בית המשפט העליון (בדימוס) ניל הנדל וראש לשכת עורכי הדין, עו"ד עמית בכר. את הכנס הנחתה שרון וכסלר. בפתיחת המושב בנושא: "אקלים פיננסי", הציגה עו"ד רייטר איך פוגשות רגולציות האקלים החדשות באירופה ובארה"ב את המגזר העסקי בישראל, תוך מתן דוגמאות מעבודת מחלקתה בבניית מדיניות ניהול סיכוני אקלים, וייעוץ שוטף בנושאים של גילוי ודיווח על פי דרישות הרגולציה האירופית והאמריקאית. עוד הציגה עו"ד רייטר את המגמה ההולכת וגוברת של הגשת תביעות בנושא שינוי אקלים כנגד חברות ודרכי ניהול סיכון משפטי חדש זה. בפאנל מרתק בהנחייתה של עו"ד רייטר, הציגה רו"ח רעות קסלר, ראש צוות פיננסים ואחראית תחום ESG ברשות ניירות ערך, את האופן בו תופסת הרשות את סיכוני האקלים והציפיה מחברות נסחרות בנושא, תוך התייחסות לקורה בעולם ובמיוחד לפרסום כללי רשות ניירות הערך האמריקאית. אורן לזרוביץ, משנה למנכ"ל AON ישראל, חברת הברוקרים הגדולה בעולם בתחום ניהול סיכונים וביטוחי משנה, שיתף את באי הוועידה בנתוני אמת מטלטלים בדבר השפעות שינוי האקלים על עולם הביטוח. נעמה כרמון, ראש תחום כלכלה בארגון אדם טבע ודין הציגה את עיקריו של דו"ח מקיף העומד להתפרסם על ידי הארגון בנושא הערכות לשינוי אקלים בגופים פיננסיים בישראל למול עמיתיהם באירופה. במקביל לכנס התקיים האקתון סביבתי בהשתתפותה של עו"ד Shira Gorodetsky, שותפה במחלקת דיני סביבה וקיימות במשרדנו, אשר היתה חברה בצוות השיפוט. אתמול, קיים מרכז המחקר לדיפלומטיית ספורט ב- Ben-Gurion University of the Negev סדנה ייחודית בנושא ספורט ודיפלומטיה, במסגרתה העניק השותף Boaz Sity ממחלקת תעשייה ורגולציה במשרדנו הרצאה מרתקת על המאבק המשפטי של הרשות הפלסטינית להשעיית ישראל מפיפ״א.

Last week, we hosted an inspiring webinar led by Merav Tabib, Partner, Co-Head of the Environment & Sustainability Department and Merav Niv Geva, Head of the Cleantech Practice, International and Hi-Tech Department at Goldfarb Gross Seligman. The webinar dealt with Carbon Credits as a Financial Leverage for Companies and a Must-have Tool in Climate Risk Management. Merav and Merav provided valuable insights into the mandatory (EU ETS) and voluntary carbon markets with an emphasis on creating optimal adaptation to climate regulation and business strategy. On April 5, 2024, the Central District Court issued a precedential ruling in an appeal by eBay Marketplace Israel Ltd. (eBay) against the Israel Tax Authority. The appeal related to transfer pricing, in which the court largely accepted the positions presented by our firm in the name of eBay. Our firm, via our partner Maya Nusbaum-Rapaport, was actively involved in the complex human and legal challenge of creating an unprecedented historical documentary, in collaboration with Sheryl Sandberg and our client Kastina Productions. "Screams Before Silence" is the first documentary film addressing the sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on 7/10 and against Israeli hostages in captivity in Gaza thereafter.
